MoviePass has made yet another update in the ongoing turbulent saga of its existence: From now on – or maybe until tomorrow, who knows! – subscribers will be able to purchase tickets only to six possible movies, which change on a daily basis. Not only does this restrict users to half a dozen titles, but MoviePass will also limit available showtimes (except for e-ticketing).

An email to MoviePass users (and the site's updated FAQ) said the film limit applies "for the time being," implying that it might be temporary "during the transition period."

While there is a touch of excitement to this plan and to the rotation of movies, it's of no use to users who like to plan their movie-viewing at least 24 hours in advance. Want to see Crazy Rich Asians? Cool, not yet though! Want to see BlacKkKlansman? Neat, but go today before it's gone!

The MoviePass website will provide a schedule of which movies are offered for at least a week in advance, which is great, but again, who knows what membership plans will look like by then? Also, the website shows seven daily options instead of six.
