Something might be up with Apple's wireless headphones tech. 。
After Apple's AirPods were delayed for an unspecified reason in October, Beats' wireless earbuds BeatsX seem to be delayed as well. 。
SEE ALSO:Apple says it needs 'more time' before releasing AirPods, won't say why 。According to an。 AppleInsider 。report, Apple retailer B&H told a customer in an email that the BeatsX -- originally slated for a December launch -- probably won't arrive for another couple of months. 。
Thanks for signing up! 。
"The manufacturer has informed us that they still do not know when they will begin shipping this item but they do know that it will take at least 2-3 months," the email said.。
The Beats website still gives the BeatsX launch date as "late 2016," and customers can sign up to get notified when the $149.95 'buds become available.。
This is notable as the BeatsX use Apple's newW1 wireless chip, which also powers both the AirPods. On the other hand, the powerbeats3 and Solo 3 models also have the W1, and they're currently shipping, so the simultaneous delay of the AirPods and BeatsX could be a coincidence and/or unrelated to the W1 chip. 。
