Good news: AirPods will just barely make it in time before Christmas. Bad news: Apple's other pair of highly anticipated wireless headphones, BeatsX, are delayed until February. 。

The wireless earphones were announced alongside the AirPods and iPhone 7 back in September and were originally slated for launch by the end of the year. 。

The delay of AirPods is believed to be one possible reason for pushing back BeatsX. Though it's only a guess, it's possible Apple wasn't able to secure enough W1 wireless chips to meet the demand for AirPods and BeatsX this year.。

Both the AirPods and BeatsX sport Apple's W1 chip, which pulls double duty for making Bluetooth pairing easier with iOS devices, Mac and Apple Watch, and as a power manager to help improve battery life. 。

BeatsX wireless earphones get up to eight hours of battery life, which is exceptionally long compared to the competition; it's three hours longer than the AirPods. Unlike Beats' other W1-equipped wireless headphones (i.e. Powerbeats 3), the BeatsX aren't as chunky and heavy on the ears, making them more ideal for use while working out or running. 。

It sucks whenever any product is delayed, but if you've waited to buy the $150 BeatsX, what's another two months?
