Being stuck in traffic is bad. You start to fantasize about all sorts of things that could stop the agony, like teleportation or, in Elon Musk's case, building a tunnel that leads from the Los Angeles airport right to his SpaceX office.。

Only in Musk's case, it may not only be fantasy.。

Musk originally proposed he would "build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging" in December, later tweeting he is "actually going to do this." Now, on Wednesday, Musk tweeted about tunneling again, announcing "exciting progress on the tunnel front," with plans to start digging "in a month or so." 。

You're probably thinking that he's just kidding, again. But in the comments to said tweet, Musk reiterated that he's serious about the idea, and even shared the specific location from which the tunnel would start. 。

"Yup," replied Musk. 。

It's unclear where the tunnel would lead. Los Angeles airport? Tesla headquarters? The beach? Any option is fine, we guess, as long as it reduces Musk's traffic-induced stress. 。

Before you get overly excited, let's get one thing straight: Even if you're a billionaire, you can't just start boring tunnels through public property. Such an endeavor sounds crazy and extremely expensive compared to the benefit of getting Musk to work a bit faster -- not to mention the mountain of paperwork and permits it probably requires. 。
It's still very possible that Musk is either kidding or the "tunnel" idea will gradually morph into something else entirely. But hey, the man confirmed he was "seriously serious" about this, so we're not ruling anything out. 。
