After almost 20 years locked in the Warner Bros. water tower with no baloney in sight, Yakko, Wakko and Dot are on the verge of escaping.

IndieWire reports that Amblin Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation are eyeing a reboot of beloved '90s cartoon Animaniacs, with original executive producer Steven Spielberg rumored to be on board to help shepherd the revival. (Here's hoping Pinky and the Brain are also involved.)

Warner Bros. declined to comment on the report, and insiders told IndieWire that the reboot is still in the early stages of development, with no network yet attached (sadly, the WB doesn't exist anymore.)

Still, the show remains popular with critics and fans alike, and has reportedly seen a resurgence since it was made available on Netflix for the first time last year, so a new series seems like a no-brainer -- especially in an era when everything from Full Houseto Legends of the Hidden Templeis getting a second shot.

If the Animaniacsreboot got the greenlight, it would join a number of other retro cartoons heading back to our screens this year, including Disney XD's DuckTalesseries, and Nickelodeon's Invader Zim, Hey Arnoldand Rocko's Modern LifeTV movies.

Since we know you're already singing the theme song to yourself, why not venture down the rabbit hole again? This is a safe space.
