What is Black Adam about?

In the ancient kingdom of Kahndaq, Teth-Adam was bestowed with omnipotent powers. But unlike DC’s typical superhero, he used his godlike powers for wrath and revenge, resulting in a 5,000-year imprisonment. Black Adamkicks off with its anti-hero’s newfound freedom, which has him ready to bring his own twisted take on justice upon the world yet again.

The only people brave enough to fight him are the Justice Society, a team of modern-day superheroes made up of recognizable DC faces: Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell). But will their quest to bring Black Adam down and lock him in eternal captivity succeed? There’s only one way to find out.

What have people said about Black Adam?

It’s safe to say that Black Adamhad some pretty polarizing reviews. Mashable’s Kristy Puchko notedthat the film’s action was unfortunately “buried in the blur of whiz-bang and CGI rubbery figures" with scenes that had "the thrill and emotional resonance of watching a child smash their superhero action figures together.” She continued, “In the end, even the bright spots are dulled by the dogged darkness of the DCEU’s relentless need to be gritty, leaving me with a bunch of baffled questions.”
